We all have our special memories of Tom.
In addition to being an excellent convivial host, Tom enjoyed sport, particularly Rugby. In recent years we watched many six Nations games in a bar but in 2017 we went to be true spectators.
Cardiff was full, the nearest accommodation being miles away in Abergavenny. We opted to catch a bus from there taking the best part of two hours but it gave Tom time to recount his childhood experiences of South Wales having been dispatched to Monmouth on a train to boarding school at the age of seven. The hard times there should have put him off rugby, but not so, it arguably helped make the man he was. After a great game against the Irish it was back to Abergavenny on a very late bus, but the stories continued well through the night.
A great friend, companion and a man we will all feel better for having known.
